We've been promised new toilets on our allotment, but I'm lobbying for a communal shed too. We're not allowed individual sheds or structures of any kind (greenhouses etc.) but there are some communal tools which are stored in the toilets. It'd be a shame if our lovely new toilets ended up full of ra...

I'd like to see a more updated version. So instead of Margot and Jerry, the terribly conventional posh couple, I'd like to see perhaps neighbours who are really into designer labels, brands, plasma TVs and all the conspicuous consumption. They'd be a good contrast to the family who are trying to be ...

4. Mix a teaspoonful of bicarb into half a glass of tepid water to cure upset stomach. 5. Make a volcano out of plasticene, place on the kitchen draining board and fill the crater with bicarb and powdered food colouring or paint if you have any. Then allow small children to drip vinegar on and make ...

It's not so bad if you realise that people are proud of their kids, just as you are proud of yours, and like sharing their accomplishments. Are you teasing me? TBH, I've only the vaguest idea what a souflé is. Basically you blend a cheese sauce into whisked egg whites and cook it in the oven. The heat makes the air bubbles expand and it rises. You can go to a lot of trouble to make them look especially pretty (like putting collars o...

Food From Your Garden
I reviewed this on my blog today. It's the fruit and veg growing book to end all fruit and veg growing books. Forget your D.G.Hessayon "Expert" series. Throw John Seymour in the bin. Monty Don? Pah! Have a look at the article to see why, then get yourself onto Amazon marketplace or eBay to buy it.

Maybe not, mp. Fan ovens have a more constant temperature, and it's temperature fluctuations that cause souffles to fall. Are you teasing me? Do you really have probelms with souffles because I've never known what the fuss was about. They're dead easy and really nice. I love all those things made wi...
