Re: Make your own polytunnel cheap!

I thought that I would give a wee update on the polytunnel after the extreme winter! The one worry we had was that it would not cope with strong winds. Re: Ancient/Long Forgotten Crops/Flowers

Try looking at the Thomas Etty website, it has loads of heritage seeds and bulbs and has things I've never heard of - Tree Primrose and Meum?
They are also good for medicinal plants and plants for dyeing etc.

If you put a slug of Cider Vinegar into water and rinse with that ...

Re: Make your own polytunnel cheap!

I got the plastic from "First Tunnels" their website is quite good as it gives you a calculator on it to work out what size of plastic. I got the thermal anti fog one. The anti-hot spot tape I got as it was about an extra £10 and they say it gives you an extra year on the plastic. I have g...

Make your own polytunnel cheap!

We made our own polytunnel this spring after mulling it over for a year and it has been brilliant. It cost £75 to make (the price of the plastic) but for that we have a tunnel 12ft by 8ft which is solid and producing lots of food. I started last year by aquiring some lengths of the blue alkathene wa...

A sunny hello from Scotland!!! anyone else around here?

I have been reading articles on this site for a while and thought I would join in the fun. We have a fair sized garden which I dreamt of having to play in for years and I still wake up excited about most days!! (the sunny ones). It has gone from being grass and trees to looking nearly impressive! al...
