Hi Alice I know some of you pain! I'm in France and have had to live on very very little. Not being able to feed the kid(s) was the biggest worry with me - its amazing what you can do with cheese, onions and potato!!!!! Have you considered that dogs are scavengers and you can feed them on cooked veg...

hi whitevan38! I've only just registered myself - after using the site for about a year! Its great that your are using you garden for more than sterile lawn and plastic "things". It much easier then an allotment - it's there for you all the time (beckoning!!) How about planting some blackcurrent bus...

One days harvest! I grow italian Roma tomatoes each year just incase its a good year for tomatoes - this year was. I grow 5 other varieties from english Harbinger to french Coeur de Boeuf and all did extremely well but the Roma are the best for bottling and making sauces to bring some summer warmth ...

Thanks contadino, you've got me thinking again. The big radiator about - 2m by 1m was replacing the hot water tank because I can't afford the new hot water tank and its at the wrong end of the house anyway.
