Re: Whole Wheat Grain Flour Pilot Bread

Durgan, would adding (toasted) wheatgerm to regular whole wheat flour have a similar nutritional benefit? I don't know the ins and out of the whole wheat flour issue. But I do know that white flour is lousy nutritional wise. The millers add various products to flour to try and bring it back to whol...

Re: Corn Juice

But thats practically the same as the stuff iv got in the fridge. Squeezed oranges which is then pressure caned to preserve it. There is nothing in there but oranges. Same as yours. Although i think your method wastes more. After they squeeze the oranges for the juice they then make marmalade from ...

Re: Corn Juice

Few people know with what chemicals the skins have been sprayed! The only way to be sure what they've been sprayed with is to grow them yourself. But how do you get your oranges to ripen with your famously short growing season? No citrus fruit in Canada. All our oranges come from Florida, Californi...

Re: Corn Juice

But why dont you just eat and apple instead of juicing it and throwing half of it away? It just seems like a waste to me. Also there is a lot of fresh juices avalible which arn't poisonous. Like 'Innocent' smoothies and juices, look here: http://www.innocentdrinks.co.uk/things-we-make But of course...

Whole Grain Wheat Flour.

Most of the commercial whole wheat flour you buy has already gone rancid by the time you use it. After wheat has been ground, natural wheat-germ oil becomes rancid at about the same rate that milk becomes sour. So if the flour hasn't been refrigerated after being milled, the real shelf life is only ...

Re: Corn Juice

Im pretty sure its the bulk fiber, the stuff you're throwing away, which goes undigested through your digestive system clearing it out as it passes allong. Re: Corn Juice

I'm a bit confused Durgan as you seem to delight in contradicting yourself. You say that <quote> "roughage that one can visibly see, which should never be ingested", although earlier in this post you say that you eat rolled oats, beans, fruit, nuts and potatoes, all of which are high in fibre rough...

http://www.durgan.org/URL/?HPFVA 7 August 2012 Datura metel (Devil’s Trumpet) Devil’s Trumpet is a prodigious self seeder and it produces many seeds, but the plants are easily removed. Re: Corn Juice

But juicing the way you do removes all the bulk fiber from the fruit and veg. Fiber is a really important part of your diet. Without it you're at higher risk for things like bowel cancers and various problems with your digestive system. Look here for example: http://www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1141.aspx?c...

Re: Corn Juice

What do you do with all the pulp left over from juicing? Do you eat it, or compost it, or feed it to the pigs?? I prefer smoothies because you use the whole fruit and dont waste anything. You need the fiber to fill you up and help clean your digestive system. You never answered my question from bef...
