Re: Make your own polytunnel cheap!

That's a great job with the polytunnel Stargazer & a very resourceful way of doing it. One tip that may help some out - fleece instead of hotspot tape works great. Everyone uses it over here. It's extremely cheap to buy in large quantities, is white (reflective) and does a great job of preventing th...

Re: Top 10 Things for my New Allotment.

Can I make a suggestion to look at Charles Downding's superb book "Organic Gardening the Natural, No Dig Way" To me it makes perfect sense & he's been doing very successfully for 3 decades. Re: ....make hot pepper sauce?

Damn. No recipe yet! My ears also pricked up at the mention of Encona. I'm addicted to the stuff unfortunately - even had it with dinner tonight. I import it from the UK in my luggage every time I come back here.

Re: How do I control the flies around my compost heap?

I'd agree that if you can find the source of what's attracting them then you can bury it deeper in the pile in future. I had a problem with Hornets this year (added too many rotting figs/plums in one go). Whilst I have nothing against them, they are a bit unnerving when they fly at you. After buryin...

Re: How do I make bread?

Hmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about it all. I do believe I've bought my last supermarket loaf. Having recently read "Not on the label", I've been put off completely & actually feel completely conned. Here's to learning the art of baking good bread!

Re: How do I make bread?

In another thread, I mentioned that I was busy today making a video on how I bake bread; the result is now available on YouTube for your viewing pleasure! Wulf Great little video Wulf! I watched it all the way through so now I'm inspired to give the bread machine a holiday. One question: where did ...

Wow - many, many thanks for all that work. You've definitely convinced me to have a go - something I've fancied for a long time but never thought I had the time. Hmmm...what to start with ;)

Ciao!

Hi folks, I have to admit to having 'stalked' the forum for quite some months now (perhaps over a year) but have never got around to actually registering. With winter approaching, I've suddenly got time available to contribute and so here I am! We live in Central Italy - having moved here from the U...
