I would deffo join the WI they are great and have so much going on you soon will be hiding behind the curtains to get some peace! (joke) They would hate to think you were feeling lonely and have tons of good stuff at their meetings that you will find interesting. After all they were 'ish' before it ...

Hi, I thought it was washing soda (not to be confused with caustic) that has nice big crystals that you can colour with natural food colouring. I can send you some Slovenian lavender flowers if you can't get any! Just give me shout I think the post is only a couple of days. Another thing I tried is ...

Re: Moving country to be self sufficient

We bought a place n Slovenia, half finished modern house (shell) large agricultural buildings and about 4 acres of field and orchard for about 38k in 2007. I can't believe it now, everything was with us, exchange rate etc. We planned to open a campsite. However, we ended up (another piece of luck) g...

Re: Anyone making any money by writing on Helium?

Well done and good luck with it. It is a bit farty to begin with to be honest and it can get a little disheartening when your earnings only go up by a few cents a week... But if you stick to it and get a few popular articles up and make sure you earn the $3 per month for 5 rating stars then it seems...

Send me your email and I will invite you.We did a mad thing a couple of years ago and moved to Slovenia with only one of us working. It was crazy now I look back. Things are better now b...

Re: Anyone making any money by writing on Helium?

Its is http://www.helium.com If anyone does decide to give it a go could I be cheeky and ask them to let me invite them? I then get paid a tiny bit too, not a share as in the writer does not get any less for what they have done, they just pay out a bit more to the person who has invited someone new....

Re: Anyone making any money by writing on Helium?

Yes, it is true writing on helium makes you write with a very high voice! Not really it is a site where you submit articles on practically any subject and then they are rated and you get paid if people read them. I have a few articles up there and have made a tiny bit of money but wondered if anyone ...

Anyone making any money by writing on Helium?

Perhaps writing for money doesn't exactly go here (although it is a craft by most definitions) I was just wondering if anyone on ish has had much financial sucess writing on Helium 'Where Knowledge Rules' (ooer) either as a contributor or a consumer. The two things are linked after all!

Re: Favorite Frugal recipes.

Once a week I audit the veg lying around in the fridge and rack and make a big tray of roasted veg. We have this with quinoa or couscous and a homemade harrisa. Its also great on pizza. It is also a great way to use up reduced veg you can sometime pick up at the end of a market . While the oven is o...

Re: Pickled onion marmalade, it's cheep and quik, grate for

I think the quantity of onions is variable as is the cooking time as the water content can be so different. It cooks down until the onions are very soft and the liquid is like when you make any chutney. I think you are right the onions don't absorb but the water in the vinegar and the onions boils a...
