Re: What i'm brewing at the moment

i made an etsy shop

not sure if this is allowed... my shop is not a terribly professional affair if that helps  anyway, i make a variety of objects and am wondering if i can sell any of them, so i started a shop... it needs a lot of work though! mostly wood-turning but starting to do some stuff in stone as well. ...

bog myrtle

any good ideas for using bog myrtle? i find it great for adding to beers and wines but not so good for food. tried making soap with it but the smell didnt linger. once tried making an oil infusion, hoping to make face/body creams by mixing with shea butter but the oil started fizzing, which was a bi...

Re: what to do with myself and my land...

well luckily, as we are planting the woodland, there will be proper deer fencing around half that field anyway. so it'd just be a case of finishing off the rest later. as for killing them, my OH does a bit of deer stalking and i think you are allowed to shoot your own deer on site unlike other farme...

Re: Breeding Ducks/Chickens for selling

what a lucky duckling  sorry to hear about those problems, tosca. what bad luck! i'll see how i get on with my youngsters and then reassess. I am pleased with the progress of my young chickens who seem to be getting very bold and hold their own against the matriarch/dictator of the pen....

Re: what to do with myself and my land...

I'm glad we're planting trees on most of it so it won't need draining. otherwise we'd be spending the rest of our lives sorting drains out! there's still one field that won't be planted though, i suspect keeping some sort of hardy edible beast on it would be the best use of it. my vote goes for a fe...

Re: Breeding Ducks/Chickens for selling

Thankyou. I have no real ideas about specific breeds etc, as I suppose that would be decided by what people want - I am very much at the beginning of thinking about this! At present our birds are a mixed bunch. As for their circumstances, we have so much space that it would be easy to create seperat...

I have recently acquired a couple of ducklings and added to my gang of chickens (taking us up to a grand total of five chickens!) and started...
