hawthorn

Ok so there is loads within walking distance of my home and feel the 'need' to forage coming on. I am planning wine, chutney and hawthorn sauce. Any other ideas?

thanks and I am sure that your daughter will be fine. The one thing I tried to was think of only the contraction I was having and not worrying about the next one.

congratulations. I gave birth to my 4th child 11 weeks ago at home and without pain relief (the gas canister they bought was empty). I have decanted the rosehip into the demijohns. I will be decanting the rosehip and blacberry tomorrrow. I was very good and resisted the rose hip wine but I may try a "small" glass of the rose hip and blackberry. Out of curiosity I also started a version of tea bag wine from part 2 of the beginners...

thans for the welcome scrap!

I have alittle question for anyone that has the time. The two musts of rosheip that I have on the go have only 1 day left before being filtered into teh demijohn. Apart from following a recipe how do you know its actually ready?

:oops: ok so I went to get some latex gloves from my husbands stock and he'd run out so I thought that I am only looking at some for interests sake so what harm can I do... according to wikipedia they are edible! So I have just had them with some sugar syrup, warmed, for my supper. I think they need the extra sugar to sweeten them a bit as they are a little bland. A blog I found suggested that they are sweeter when dried so may try this with the ones that I pick proper...

I have had had a look at the leaves and I would describe them as more palmeate in shape. The nuts are also a little more pointed at the end so the shape is a little different too.
