Re: Superscrimpers.

I had one look at this show a couple of weeks ago and they were just showing how to do your nails cheaply with some little dots on them................................ I had to look on the TV program twice to really believe this was about "serious" saving money!! I moved on quickly to another channe...

Re: Alcoholic Elderflower Champagne

I don't know what PET bottles are either... Ha, now I know they are the bottles you get with bubbly soft drink. Good old google! I have re-used some of these for our elderflower champagne and it worked okay. If you want champagne bottles just ask for some empty ones on your local freecycle. We did t...

Re: Please help me Pagan Parents!!!

Bit late to this thread but can confirm that state schools in France are secular. There are no prayers or formal assemblies and in my experience children are taught about the faiths of the world in a matter of fact way. No problem with celebrating Christmas or Easter though - especially if it invol...

Re: Peggy the Patchwork Python

@123Sologne Some toy stuffing left over from my professional toy making days. The bags used to be kept under my youngest's cot...she's 19!   Infact the whole thing only cost me 16.5p...the cost of the eyes! The ribbon tongue, (which is looped for hanging on the door knob/handle) ...

I haven't seen the add either, but it sounds like a very interesting job. I never thought that this could even be a job!... Shame I don't live in Kent! :(

Re: 101 uses for old Jiffy bags

Advertise them on Freecycle for e-bayers if you do not sell on e-bay yourself.
To re-use them to send something else, just put a clean piece of paper on top of the old address (quarter of A4 or half), attach with sellotape and write new address on.

Re: freecycle

Keaniebean and Welshmum, I am just so sorry for your dreadful experiences. People are sick!! I just cannot believe they have to behave like that!!! I am not surprised you have been put off giving away anything through freecycle, Keaniebean. :( It is amazing that something so beautiful and so simple;...

Re: freecycle

I have to agree with a lot of the last 2 comments, but there is another reason why people may use the wanted section. To be honest, I am very surprised at some of the requests I have seen mentioned here, so it looks like our Freegle may be less extreme. Anyway, as I was saying there is another reaso...

Re: What are we all having for dinner?

Last night, we had a left over from a new recipe I tried this week. Make a mash, very buttery and add some cream, put some fried onion and fried bits of ham in it and some chive. Mix well, put in a pie dish, cover with grated cheese and put in the oven until cheese forms a nice crusty top. Serve wit...

Re: Whats age got to do with it???

Happy birthday to all the nearly 50!!
Actually as some have already started talking about not "behaving their age", are there any things you are very proud to have done "at the so called "wrong age"?
