Re: Re-use bamboo blinds ?

I got one especially to use as a wind break when i was gardening on my balcony. Now it's rolled up in the shed so I'll be keeping an eye on the ideas posted here.
I like the idea of cutting it into strips to camouflage pots etc.

Re: CATS!

For empty beds, I also use cuttings (raspberries, roses etc)
The water spray works well when you're around: it doesn't take long for a cat to learn. We use it on our cat too and he still comes home for cuddles so he's not traumatised... :p

Re: Artichokes - Globe

I was looking for advice on artichokes and found that thread so thought I'd revive it... I just love artichokes! Here is how I've always had them: The easiest way: boiled (but not soggy!) then tear each "petal" and dip the end in vinaigrette (olive oil, vinegar, mustard, salt, pepper). eat the flesh...

oil tank in the way...

I need to tap into the -Ish knowledge bank again...
Our (above ground) oil tank is very annoyingly situated in the sunniest corner of the garden. Mr & his dad fenced it off this weekend. Is it safe to grow edible crops nearby?
thanks

Rhubarb concerns

At the end of last year, I planted 2 rhubarb crowns: Champagne and Victoria. The Champagne is looking good with 4-5 leaves big like my hand. The Victoria: nothing... Although they are next to each other, I've followed the spacing guidelines. So what's wrong? Should the Victoria start to grow later? ...
