Re: Food prices to double
Is the US still dumping ship loads of 'waste' wheat into the sea (bad for the sea and fish stocks), because it is 'uneconomic' to ship it to somewhere where people are starving?? They certainly were in the 80s. ! :angryfire: Wouldn't be Surprised though more stuff to make ire over agriculture/trade...

Re: Alzheimer.
Sorry to hear that eddy, but the more brain exercises you do the longer the deterioration can be put off in cooperation with medication Out of interest my grandfather was diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's before he died in 1996,as his memory was severely limited and I was the only grandchild h...

Ok so a few years ago whilst on holiday I popped into Glastonbury on Market day and found a fab stall selling different herbs that the average pagan/witch would squeak in delight over. So I bought a few and popped them into my parents' garden as I was at home then. Some lived, some died and dog chew...

Re: Best homemade yogurt recipe?
I made yogurt too! the real suff, not the "actimel"! ok, I need to confess... I tried on the windowsill FAIL, I tried on top of the internet modem SUCCESS-ish and then, on ebay, appears an easiyo thingy 10min away. I'd never looked into it as there's no way I'm making my own yogurt from a...

Re: new bug

Or is it already and we just don't know about it? : x It's half term next week, no doubt holidaymakers will being it back from wherever fellow Germans are visiting, factor in business trips, apparently if unchecked you can expect a disease to ...

Re: Excessive separation anxiety in greyhound
Of course I would love another dog and know how much it benefits them (I think it's similar with children, my hubs is an only child and boy don't we know it!!!) but ethically I would have to get a rescue dog and I know that it takes time, effort and understanding to get a rescue dog in a good place ...

Re: Excessive separation anxiety in greyhound
The acting up when you're reading a book could possibly be boredom, so hard to know through a forum Most likely boredom as the telly wasn't on or knowing greyhounds it was that he interpreted boredom as ' must eat now' even though he had had some biscuits 10mins before! Thanks for all the advice, h...

Re: Excessive separation anxiety in greyhound
It does sound like something has spooked him, if he's quite a nervous dog it could have been something as simple as a noise he didn't like on the tv You know you could be right there, Blake loves the telly & will happily sit and watch it ( sometimes headbutting it and squealing when he sees ano...

Re: Excessive separation anxiety in greyhound
Thanks for the responses. Blake has several cuddly toys which he cuddles or raggles, a squeaky Lara Croft he uses when he is angry and is always given a rawhide 'cigar' or similar (the cigar sized ones take him aaages to eat) we either leave a tv or stereo playing and we tried him with a treat dispe...

Re: Best homemade yogurt recipe?
Well I made yoghurt & strained it for two hours so I now have lovely Greek Style yoghurt  Thank-you!! Excellent, I must try that the next time I have spare milk. I hope you didn't throw the liquid away. Feed it to the cat or freeze it to use instead of the water/milk when making cakes, ...

Excessive separation anxiety in greyhound
Ok so Blake is 2 1/2 years old and was adopted by us aged 10months from Dogs Trust. He was rescued from an abusive situation in Ireland along with 50 other dogs, has never been raced or trained because he has no chase instinct (really it's true) and according to his microchip was neutered young ( ab...

Re: Neem Oil??
I also have pretty bad eczema although it's a bit better in summer I still have flaky eyelids which make me look wrinkly! I found upping my omega oils & evening primrose to about 2,000mgs each daily helped soothe from the inside, and upping my water intake helped massively, even carbonated water...

Thank-you for taking the time to explain John, I honestly thought I'd upset things by pressing 'edit' twice in three minutes!
And thank-you for hosting the forum especially in a thoughtful way.
