Great thread :wink: especially as i'm(hopefully) just about to get my first allotment,there are apparently 3 sites near me within walking distance,off to look at them today and decide which i'd like and then find out what the waiting lists are like here. A friend of mine bought 2 plots for her s/dad...

from another home edder on the forum :salute:
I home edded my daughter for about 5/6 years in total,she was also bullied.Now she's gone off to college(her choice)and is one of the most motivated pupils there(so i'm told) I think because she wants to be there,to get her GCSE's etc

have a good social life and i have never seen such happy kids, they learn all sorts of skills,but the best thing they have learnt is about life and the world around us, something that they can't learn from any teacher. My daughter is now looking into going to college and moving on with her life try...

Home education has to be something that's right for both you and your kids..........I'm totally for it,if i had any more kids they wouldn't set foot inside a school,but it's not for everyone.There is no better,only what's better for you and yours :wink:

Is there not a huge process of court approval to go thru to be allowed to home teach? My friend several years back had to fight in court to get the right to teach her 3 at home because the local school was so bad. She did win but it took some pushing! My daughter decided to go to college at 16(she started last week) and do her GCSE's,she got in no problem and seems to be way ahead of most of the other kids(but i think a lot of them failed their maths ,english etc at school and are doing re-takes)She decided to catch up on gcse level maths about 6...
