Re: Just agreed to buy first house!

UPDATE:

We are in, be in for a week.Yep folks it took that long. Starting to realise just how expensive it can be to own a house. The plumbing breaks, you fix it! Anyway, that aside ....compared to the last rented place this is 100 times better so we are (at last) very happy here.

Re: Ghost? Probably not, but...

Sounds very vivid, who knows really and perhaps Mike is right about the day dreaming thing? I've had a few experiences with the supernatural. The oddest one was when I had swine flu a couple of years ago, a bit delierious I used all my energy to get to the bathroom. Whilst resting leaning against th...

Re: Men Only

Having just moved house I seem to have lost my razor and I'm dammed if I'm going to buy another. So at the moment I have a beard and I do every few weeks. Who needs to be clean shaven every day? I'm sure its not good for the skin. But yep, when I do shave I use shaving cream costing £7 but still not...

Re: Andy on the box on Autumn watch...one year on

Well I DID do a pre-record with them, they just didn't use it. I think they have a few bits like that its just the nature of the beast. But they made me feel like part of the team this time so from my point of view it was all good really. Anyway, thanks for watching it and the hat...........well it ...

Re: Rowan or Mountain Ash berries

I was rather unimpressed with the wine too. Rowan jelly is rather bitter, but that the point and you are suposed to have it with some game. Personally, I mix with some whitebeam fruit as the natural sugars sweeten up the and the juxtaposition with both is rather tasty.

Re: Hep Ragwort

oh my gosh...I had no idea that ragwort is (is thought?) to be dangerous........ Well, the rest of the story about the vet was that the farmer was picking and he was fine. So, you have to handle a lot of it of it for a while and be suseptable to poisioning. I wouldn't worry too much. And, like I sa...

Re: Just agreed to buy first house!

There would have been no way I would have been able to afford it had it not been from Emma earning and an inheritance. Even then we are the cheap end of the housing market. But, if some forecasts are correct my house will be worth half as much in 5 years time anyway!

Re: Just agreed to buy first house!

Right then, it took me ages to unearth this post for an update. But finally it looks like things are moving. Buying real estate addictive Jessiebean, nope not in the UK! It doesn't look like we will be in until the first week of October so much for my 8 weeks idea. I now have the utmost respect for ...

Re: Andy Hamilton on TV! (Alan Titchmarsh show)

Well done Andy must be quite nerve wracking appearing on tv for the first time. Didn't notice you put two fingers up - what happened there then? It came across well - i hope you got some good publicity from it. Well, its not acutally the first time I've been on telly and it wasn't live nor was thei...

Re: Hep Ragwort

Hmm, I have heard that people have died from picking ragwort. This is ancedotal so happy to be proved wrong. But I heard of a vet who spent a whole day picking ragwort without gloves, so pulling many, many plants. He keeled over at the end of the day. Interestingly too, I got the train through oxfor...
