Re: Today I Dug Up...

I have also found golf balls. I think I may be digging my way through an old shed at the moment, but it's so decomposed it's actually not quite possible to tell! How does this stuff get down there? That's what I'd love to know. Also, anybody know what to do with a wheelie bin full of broken glass? I...

Re: Today I Dug Up...

It's always a struggle to see the new year in.

We have a bonfire the size of a van built to burn, so that'll keep us entertained for sure this evening.

Today I Dug Up...

Today I was digging around the back of the cob nut tree, in preparation for what will eventually be a shed base. I found... A set of ancient, buried scales. I can't deny that finding a plunger-like submerged metal object gave me the jitters initially. One rather sorry looking bag of coal About 500 p...

Re: Phone apps

I confess that mine's used fairly heavily as my family only really communicate via WhatsApp, and being 300-odd miles from them I don't want to opt out of all communication. I usually get third-hand cast offs (sister, Mum then me) and they seem to go for a few years before breaking down. We don't hav...

Re: Phone apps

I know this was more than a year ago, but just in case anybody looks back to this topic later, I think there was a bit shift from 32bit to 64bit from iPhone 5 onwards that has wreaked havoc with older apps. It's a real shame as it's put a load of old stuff out of commission.

Re: I'm self sufficient in....

Do you have one to plant out? I could probably stick a spade through some of mine, pop it in a jiffy bag and it'd survive the journey

Re: Ish Members' Blogs

It's because I learnt all my HTML back in school in the 00's and it's hosted in my pantry - I'm going to write something on sustainable blog hosting at some point hopefully :)

They have the turkey breast steaks in two well known German discounters today so you may be able to get them yet :)

Re: Pet gripes

What's to like? It's stressful, families are often the worst and financially it's pretty naff. And you have short days to work on the garden.

Re: Pet gripes

A "stew pack" of veg in the local supermarket - a swede, parsnip, carrots and onion in a plastic tray and then cellophaned.

Wrapping paper is also very annoying.
