Re: Stupid, stupid people......

Gilly, We don't have many rules on this forum but one of our most basic ones is 'Be Nice' From our rules: Being Nice The clue is in the title "be nice". Treat others as you would wish to be treated, and Selfsufficientish.com will continue to be a happy group. There is no need for throwing ...

Re: Stupid, stupid people......

We live in a strange world where a huge proportion of the population of westernised world buys all their food in plastic and is discusted by the thought that dirt may have ever touched food....

at least some people try.... :dontknow:

Last year for Mothers day I was given a £25 gift voucher for river cottage online. At the time we had just been forced out of our house so I was saving it till we moved back... ... By July I reckoned I would just use it so it was used but the code wouldn't work... ... I had to get OH to contact them...

Re: How can I make- err encourage them to lay?

I think you really need to leave them to it, make them comfortable and leave them to settle in again.... I don't know if a little cider vinegar in their water might give them a wee perk (wouldn't hurt anyway) Re you sure their not laying in a bush somewhere - It has happened to me before... one day ...

Re: Newbie chicken tips

I'm more concerned about neighbours dogs than foxes... the run is as 'Jack-Russel Proof' as I can muster When you get your chooks it is handy if you get them late afternoon, ev...

Re: Moon Pads

Still not bought any.... It requires investment and we don't have a lot to invest just now :? I have worked out I'm going to need 8-10 and each one will cost me 3 months worth of disposables... and, because of delivery costs, I can't really buy one a month until I have enough.... so financially (unl...

Re: any money saving advice

It might be an idea to have a family meeting about finances (we've done it and our 4YO seems to understand enough to make her stop asking for stuff) We have just stated as fact 'We just don't have the money" You might find out the kids are willing to meet you half way. If you have a supermarket...

Re: bring back national service..........

I emailed my local council about it a few years back Boboff.... they told me it was dangerous to plant edible plants in such areas.... cause people don't know what to do with them  I really don't understand that, but clearly they need a kick up the derrier. At the age of 10 my brother ate seed...
