This is an interesting thread, I read a bit a week ago and have been pondering. I ahve 4 bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and whatever sitting there as overpriced chemicals in plastic bottles- but I don't want to smell! Rather than suddenly stop washing my hair and have 2 weeks greasy, 2...

I managed to get hold of some copper wire (begged from an electrician who was stripping it from a house). I only paid him £2 for a massive bundle. Just heard there's a risk of ground frost next week! Is this weather real? Makes you wonder what we will have to learn to deal with in years to come.

Oh you can't have garlic, how can that be a self-sufficientish overall hate. Its good for you (providing you are not allergic to it), easy to grow and store and I couldn't live without it!! I give it to my horse to keep the flies off and keep his breathing healthy, and eat it myself to ward off vamp...

69. Pick something you use lots of- or are addicted to ( for me it's chocolate). Think about how the transport, manufacture and packaging affects to environment and see if you can't cut down/give up as a result. If you use alot it will be a big impact. It really is a bit of independance when you fin...

8. Hoovers- what happened to the old push carpet cleaners and a dust pan and brush? Well that and I hate hoovering- noisy, pointless 9. Aircon- obvious but why is it standard in cars now? And offices too! Two of our directors even have portable aircon in their individual offices to top up the aircon...

just got an allotment

Thanks guys,

Can't wait for the weekend to get in there. I have unlimited access to horse manure being an owner and my horse is in the field next to the allotments so handy!

Got some radish seeds, lettuce already on the go at home, looking forward to the summer salads- if it ever stops raining!
