Chickenlady I have thought of moving to New brunswick. I qualify on their points system  I think Canada's landscape is gorgeous too. Martin we go globe trotting to see other places. Many countries share a border with at least one other country so it's relatively easy if they want to see anothe...

Hmmm... maybe it is as bad as the news makes out then. New Zealand is great and a wonderful place to live and an excellent place to raise a family. No matter where I went in the world I would always come back here eventually. This is going to sound silly but I've always wanted to see the world and p...

Worried about you in that you had turned into a complete slut  or worried in case you were dead?   Lol in NZ slut means a very promiscuous woman (woah that's great spelling). Probably that I'd lost my will to keep up with the Joneses (ie them... two adults plus three kids...

DD and I are going on holiday on monday till friday. We're carpooling there and back. We were going to bus but I think carpooling will be more child friendly because we can stop at playgrounds along the way so she can have a run around and release some energy lol. Our accomodation is at a backpacker...

Thankfully I live on a quiet street in a small town so I can leave my windows open slightly 24/7. There's mint growing wild outside my laundry and a 1/4 acre 'paddock' beside my house that has long grass and currently a horse but usually sheep. I'm thinking of planting daphne way down the back and l...

Isn't it a bit dangerous, what with all the orcs and ring wraiths? *ducks to avoid thrown objects* Seriously I was at the hair dressers once and the lady next to me was on holiday from America. She was talking about her travel plans and after going to the capital she wanted to visit middle ea...

3 months without cleaning the floor  that's the one thing in my house that is always spotless lol. I spot clean the lino when I see something spilt on it and give the whole lot a good wipe once a week. One day I'll have a mop and it'll be so much easier :cooldude:

A couple months ago my house got really messy and unhealthy. I lost entire floors. There were places I had to ballet leap to get over. DD would cry out "stuck!" as she tried to climb over piles half her height. Her out stretched arms and imploring blue eyes begging me to rescue her from the rubble t...

completely wacky idea but you know how some places have employee of the week/month maybe they could have that for the most eco aware employee. Throw in a small perk or bonus and staff might be falling over themselves to green up.

Plus the business might get publicity for its initiative

Here in New Zealand they've started selling individually (plastic) wrapped prunes! Of course it's the perfect answer to the fact that we're running out of landfill space and our native birds are choking on rubbish or starving to death because their insides are blocked up with rubbish. And humans bei...

I'm not entirely sure if she's sitting. I'm out of the house much of the day when I check on them she's standing on the side of the nest or arranging the material. When she feeds the other one stands on the side of the nest. I've ordered a proper nesting pan for her because I don't think the mortar ...
