Re: new bug

Gosh Paul hope your family are all well again, I worry about these sorts of things, as myself and eldest daughter have some (serious) health problems, but they are well managed and we are generally never struck down as bad as we think, in fact in the most part less so than the rest of the family. I ...

drool!

My Raspberries have produced lots of new fruiting canes, I've mulched (and watered! ) and they look like they are doing fairly well.

Hope you get a bumper crop, and we get a downpour soon..

Re: Comfrey

ack! Comfrey! My allotment is over run with the stuff! I use it to mulch my potatoes and squashes, and also soak it to make a liquid fertilizer. I haven't quite resorted to drinking the flowers in my tea, but I am tempted to let some of it flower, as the 'old boys' down the allotments have a fit ove...

Re: washing machine BBQ

I have a constantly breaking down machine and have had two new drums fitted in the last two years. They truly are a thing of beauty aren't they?

We use ours as a little outdoor burner in the garden.

And the youngest uses the other one as a (lethal) merry go round! :pale:

Re: Sling goodness!

I never did get on with the MT that I made, and stuck to ring slings, but I have never been able to wear my kids on my back, it's too damn uncomfortable, I have (not very severe) scoliosis so I think that it just put the wrong sort of pressure on the wrong places if I tried to back carry. I made my ...

Re: Plant a pallet

That's really clever, and could be just the thing for breaking up all that boring concrete down my drive way. Hubby still needs the room to work on his cars, but I could at least have a bit of colour around when he's not there!

Your raised bed system is just like the one I'm doing at my allotment, although I will be the first to admit that mines not going to look anywhere as neat!

Great job, and well done you.

I agree with the regular postings part, once you get into the swing of it, it's a really enjoyable process.

Oh and well done for posting it on here - you've got it dated and a whole world of witnesses if anyone tries to nick it now I didn't think of that! Thanks :cooldude: :cooldude: Glad you both think that it sounds like a valid idea, I'll keep steadily working on it whenever I have the time too. I do ...

Go about submitting a book proposal?

I know that some of you out there are already published (dave! andy! ) and the long and short of it is, I have an idea for a book, and I have quite simply been writing and illustrating it as much for my own benefit as anyone elses, but encouraging words from himself has made me wonder i...
