Re: How to forage a first aid kit and survive a terrorist attack

Come off it guys! Satire is a very powerful weapon in the hands of a good writter. This is not funny or clever or well written. Its crap! There is no credible substance to the core of this article - thats why it doesn't work. The content is incorrect so the black humour doesn't work either. You thin...

Re: How to forage a first aid kit and survive a terrorist attack

I'm horrified and wondering whether to end my link with the forum. Firstly I have lived all my active life in the territory of IRA terrorist attacks on mainland UK and have been near their bomb explosions 3 times. You must keep the scale of the treat in perspective. More people were killed in train ...

Re: Black stains appeared overnight on my new oak windows - help

Hi mew - we have a response back from Osmo in Germany. Its in German so OH is translating... "This reaction can not be caused by treatment with our UV protection oil. The explanation is as follows: Oak as a wood has a rich chemical content. The tanic acid reacts very strongly with iron and/or a...

Re: Beetroot woe

Hi - I would suggest you look at the mineral mix of the compost. Usually they are aimed at "plant growing" - ie leaves so will be high in nitrogen. Some are aimed at tomato growing and they will be boosted with potassium (for fruit). What you want is low leaf growth and high root growth. S...

Re: Can someone give me a kick up the a***?

not from me - I always make mistakes when I'm tired and hate wasting the stuff. Go to bed and get up earlier and you'll do it in half the time. Layer the plums with sugar and leave over night they will make much better jam tomorrow.
Go to bed!

Re: Compost bin

Another "sorry but" comment - I used OSB alot when building my house in UK and had some left over. Mixed concrete on it and it fell apart. When the water gets in it disintergrates very quickly. We have 3 of these corales an we are planning a 4th so that we are self sufficient in compost at...

I'm 18 years out of it but have you thought of "Roustabout" or "Roughneck" in the oil/drilling industry? I can't see that that type of work has ended - if you are fit and "daft" enough! You definately will get experience! :happy6:

Re: Black stains appeared overnight on my new oak windows - help

 is summary of OH response. The acid in the oak discolours the iron not the other way round. Marking like shouldn't be that quick. Windows shouldn't be made with iron - it should be copper/brass/stainless steel! Out of curiosity he has emailed Osmo in Germany to see if they have any ideas. ...

Re: make butter from UHT milk?

I know this is an open site but seeing as you are sick and a long way from home knowing soemone is thinking of you might help abit :sunny: The urticaria may be also a symptom. Stress and frustration (anger that can't go anywhere) often seem to be in the emotional body of those that I heal that have ...
