I gave a mattress away to a fella who lives in a bus, it was far better than the one he was currently sleeping on and he was chuffed to bits with it.

I have a massive hoodie made from fleece that fits over my tomato plants when I plant them out, it fits over 5 foot high hoops and is double thickness, we made it a few years ago by stapling the fleece together

I think the best way forward is to approach your local planning department and just ask off the record what is involved in low impact living on a piece of land that you buy, it might be that you can buy a piece of ground with an old or ruined cottage on it which is then considered to be residential....

Why not have a weekend out of season in a yurt, that would give you a good idea of what it would be like, or a week, why wouldn't you, there is a place called Pink Apple Orchard and they do camping in Celtic yurts

thanks i dont have any manure is blood fish and bone ok to use 6 handfuls enough per tree watered in every month i have a limited budget :( Don't you have any home made compost, that would be very beneficial. I don't use anything to heal trees when I prune, if it is stone fruit you are better off waiting until there are leaves on the trees as the sap heals cuts. You can also give your trees a seeweed feed, you can get some seaweed liquid, dilute as per instructions and spray the trees when they come into...
