Re: Nope, I still hate peas!

Here is one of my pea pods. It's the first time I've grown them so am feeling especially proud. This variety is Little Marvel and is delicious straight from the pod.

Ants

Hi I'm gardening with the children at the local primary school and we discovered ants farming aphids on some poppies. Fascinating to watch but the children don't want to actually garden in that area. When I pointed it out to the teacher she said that they'd been having huge problems with ants gettin...

Re: what can I grow really quickly for school garden

Thanks guys - they did cress heads recently. Ohh just thought we could do some grass heads and make some little scarecrow things out of recycled stuff. That should be easy enough.

Re: what can I grow really quickly for school garden

thank you - think we'll have a salad race and they can plant a few rows of different lettuce to see which ones come up first :-)

Got some pumpkin seeds but the pack said to sow May - reckon they'll still come up in time?

Re: Moved from England to Scotland

You WILL love it Andy. I've moved up there twice now and I would go again like a shot if the opportunity arose. What Cassiepod (hello you x) says is so true - I am hating every minute of being down here in Manchester. It's smelly, it's noisy, there are too many cars (I've not driven since I moved ba...

Re: Will Peppers Grow in a Conservatory?

I give mine a little tickle with my fingertip to make sure the deed has been done - I've got quite a few in my conservatory and they are setting chillies now. YAY!
