I've never seen anything about re-using teabags, but when I've made a cup of jasmine tea with the i...

Re: Flower? Veg? ID please...
I'd say it's definitely in the Solanaceae (Potato) family.... Some species have poisonous fruits though, so I'd wait for a positive ID before doing anything with the fruits.... I'll investigate further in the meantime....

Re: Radish ponderings
I've eaten a handful of pods at a time, when they are young and fresh, and they are ok, but what do the Germans do with them that they need to breed special varieties. I can't imagine what you could do with the hundreds of pods that one plant will produce. Any really tastey recipes for preserving t...

Re: Skip treasure
I've found quite a few dining chairs, Mirrors, a bedside cabinet, shards of mirror (I will use for a paraboloid solar oven), and, most excitingly, two pewter and resin pirate figurines! Still packaged in their cardboard boxes and polystyrene, although I can't find any similar ones online to find out...

Re: Favourite board games.
Pandemic. It is a co-operative game. Each of you plays a randomly selected role and work together to try and cure the world of four serious diseases. However the turn of the cards each turn spreads the infection and can bring up epidemic events which cause quiet areas to burst out and infected area...

Re: Radish ponderings
I discovered the joy of eating radish seed pods this year - got lots of nice round roots early in the summer but then a load bolted when it got hotter. Read somewhere that you could eat the pods and they are really tasty - mild radishy flavour. Had so many that I tried pickling a jar-full, which ar...

Wow, very interesting idea! Do you just use the leaves in place of basil in traditional pesto?chickenchargrill wrote:I've made pesto with the leaves, which was yummy. Also shoved some in a stir fry, nice too. Not tried any of the soup recipes yet.

Re: Homemade Tea
I'd recommend buying young Camellia sinensis plants, rather than the seeds, as they are quite difficult to germinate at the best of times, and some suppliers, like Jungleseeds.com, must send out out seeds that are quite old, as I had a zero percent success rate with their seeds on two occasions. As ...
