Re: New pond
Hello Davie, not wanting to p**s on your fireworks, but we acquired some Koi (12 " + long) & the buggers eat any thing that gets in the pond, apart from frogs. We don't have Waterboatmen, Pondskaters or any other such pondlife. They ate our Lilly, & other aqua plants. However, they can ...

Re: Fishing rights - who owns a river?
Hi Tony, i guess it is normally down to the environment agency, tho' Anglian Water may well have a say if they abstract from it. Is it the Thet or the Ouse? You would need to know in order to find out. Good luck from East Harling!

Re: Triangle shaped allotment - help needed to plan!
Hi Mclan, don't know where you're situated (always helps on gardening questions) but you do need to consider things like; full sun/partial shade, East/West (etc) facing? & all that other gubbins. Pathways tend to occur naturally as suits the plot. Keep asking the questions, as there will always ...

My Jackie found a recipe for this, but it seemed a bit watery....... just seemed to consist of 2 bulbs, dried & fresh thyme, & bayleaves. Any alternatives? We do like our garlic!

Re: Potato scab
Potato scab is generally caused by a combination of dryness & too much lime content in the soil. Maybe a good dollop of peat-based compost would do the trick next year?

........ not the one on the end of my nose, but the little bugger that has just moved into our back garden. So far, not too much of a problem, as it is only tunneling down one side. But sod's law it will soon be moving across to the veg patches. Any ideas for catching/discouraging etc? (apart from b...
