Every year i grow chilies on the allotment and as soon as we gat that first heavy frost they all turn black overnight and are dead

on most sundays, when i'm not away i go to the trading post, down the allotments and say hello and buy some supplies. my wife Helen puts them flat side down on a tray and cuts the shell in a cross and prinkle some salt over the top then puts in oven at medium temp till the shell opens and go grisp. when i was in dermeern, holland afew years ago i went into a bar for lunch and the only thing on the menu in english was "firemans steak" so i ordered that. when it came it was almost raw and swimming blood. almways have mine well done now
