Re: un-vaccinated children
and id like to add the homeopathy should also be made illegal as people have actually died from refusing to go to a real doctor and instead only taking homeopathic treatment. Again it is the choice of the individual though. If someone doesn't want to go to the doctor, regardless of whether they are...

Re: Month One
I think my biggest improvement this month has been giving up alcohol - just because I can - and found I haven't missed it at all and have lost a couple of pounds to boot - win win, am thinking of keeping it up for another month to see where it takes me as I am generally feeling all round better tha...

Re: un-vaccinated children
how can any one be so irrisponcible and endanger their childs life by refusing to get them vaccinated! this should be illegal!!! If it were made illegal I would be tempted to move country. I'm not saying I'm against any and all vaccinations but there are a few vaccinations which I don't think are n...

Re: Does anyone NOT have a television?
I'm living with my parents at the moment and they have a TV but I don't have a lot of spare time to watch it. During my 3 years at uni and 1 year living away from home I didn't have a tv and we always found ways to entertain ourselves, usually with very geeky role play games. I'll never forget the c...

Re: Favourite board games.
Risk is a good board game...though it tends to bring out my competitive side a bit too much! Munchkin and all expansion packs gets my vote for card games even though I have yet to win a game.
But Role Play games are by far my favourite. Dungeons & Dragons and Exalted all the way!

Month One
As a bit of a follow on from the New Years Resolutions thread I was wondering how people are getting along so far with their plans and goals for 2012. I've made a wobbly start with mine but it's starting to pick up at the weekends compared with 2011. Eat less rubbish- Failing miserably so far. Do mo...

Re: get a post to acknowledge that I've read it!
MW I've got the same problem, no matter how many times I click on that post it still refuses to change. I've resorted to steadily ignoring it and hoping it will go away automatically after a set amount of time has passed.

Re: Get the best out of my Dutch Oven
One tip I've heard is that as well as having coals underneath the fire you want to place a few on top of the lid as well to help keep the heat distribution even throughout.

Re: Chickens breaking eggs
Whenever we've had broken eggs it's always been the chickens eating their own eggs, usually one starts it off (either by accident or design) and then once they discover how yummy they are they make it into a habit and the others join in. Usually it either stopped after a while by itself or we'd remo...

Re: get people to stop being sods about the fact i am unempl
If people are having a go at you on other forums then don't go on those forums anymore. Someitmes people change but mostly you'll find they are set in their views and having to explain yourself over and over when they don't want to listen will just grind you down.

One way to reuse polystyrene
These are some bits I made out of blocks and sheets of polystyrene. Water bowls and climbing blocks for snakes probably aren't applicable to many of you but the same technique can be used to make vases, decorative flower pots, wall art, keep the children busy and other things you might think of in t...

Re: Is it Spring Yet?
It felt like spring in Jersey yesterday. Walking back from lunch across the field it was lovely and warm and I managed to walk through not one but two small clouds of flying midge type bugs (I was looking at the birds so didn't notice the bugs ).
