I LOVE sprouts too - simply delicious. Not much I don't like on that list.

I'd suggest that those folk who hate broad beans try growing some and eating them when they are very young. Yummy. I don't like them once they've grown too big.

ours were indoor ones and we just kept them indoors... didn't really do anything to them and perhaps it was just luck that meant we had some chillies on the plants the year after. Will be looking to do the same this year and will have to check up on what to do as ours are now in an unheated conserva...

the best camera is the one you have with you (someone said that but I can't remember who!) - it's true.

Are you going to overwinter your plants? I know ours lasted into a second year and did even better the next year.

I've got something that looks like sunflowers in my garden too but they aren't forming flowers... not sure whether they are sunflowers or jerusalem artichokes. Pic will follow.

I've got a fair few plants on the go - some have done better than others and the pretty in purple ones are dripping with fruit. None ripe yet though. I can't wait to use some in my cooking.

I know someone who is - I think you are allowed to grow it if it's for your own use though.
