Re: Prevention from being more ish?
Ah, but then I'd be incredibly bored. When we had two full-time wages coming in, we didn't have enough to buy land (very expensive here), but we bought whatever else we wanted - food from supermarkets, take-aways, meals in restaurants. I could have stuck with that by going back to my paid job after...

Re: Prevention from being more ish?
I am trying to be more ish, but gradually so each little change becomes normal and I am less likely to fall off the bandwagon. Things that hold me back: House: we are in a council house so dreams of solar panels on the roof, rainwater collection, installing a woodburner etc will never happen! Me: I ...

Re: Anyone else expecting?
HBAC = home birth after caesarian, similar to VBAC = vaginal birth after caesarian, but at home Clara, did you have your HBAC on the NHS? Did you have to fight for it or were they acommodating? I am having the independant midwife that we had for our first childs birth, she is worth her weight in gold.

Re: growing potatoes in tyres or beds?
I am getting mine today from a little tyre place run by 2 old boys, they are happy to give me them for free as they have to pay to have them disposed. So it benefits us both!

Have I left it too late to plant apple trees or should I just choose from what is left? There is also the thing that this is my...

Re: Making raised beds out of old pallets
Unfortunatly they were almost impossible to break up, even with a crowbar. The nails stayed in place, the wood came off all split and no good
