Re: mmmmm satisfying.

Oh I love those days!! Yesterday we got cracking on the allotment which was very satisfying but today has been spent with the inlaws, my mil likes to feed us and look after us so i sat on my but and did nothing all day! The house is a tip and needs tidying now, but i thought i would check my emails ...

Re: raspberries - from lidls or homebase?

There is no need for the bold type. I usually have a little one hanging off me and as such I sometimes accidently miss a post. And the answer is no to whether it is summer or autumn fruiting, but there are instructions for pruning. EDITED TO SAY: I have just looked at the packaging and they fruit in...

Re: Got an allotment!!

Lol Julie, very lucky but the council sprayed the grass with god knows what before to kill it then rotavated it :( Some of it is very stoney, but no worries as that is where the seating area and compost bin is going :) Tried to make pallets into raised beds, but they only just fit in the car and scr...

Re: Making raised beds out of old pallets

i think with the back seats down we might get a couple in. willjust have to do a few runs. and will have to butter up my OH to do some lifting and shuttling back and forth collecting them. he is not green fingered at all so some bribery is in order!

Re: Making raised beds out of old pallets

well looks like i will be taking pallets apart tomorrow! The only trouble is - how to transport them to my allotment? We only have a fiesta, no trailer and i am pregnant so probably shouldnt be lifting them.

Making raised beds out of old pallets

Can raised beds be made out of old pallets? I have been told of a place I can get them for free and wondered if it would be possible?

Re: Got an allotment!!

I have been to choose my allotment!! They have opened up 20 new half plots and I was among the first group to choose so we had pick of the bunch! Mine is at the top of the slope (so no flooding), has a car park next to it, close to the water trough, and near a small tree that will provide some shade...

Re: I'm bored!

I am soooo grateful for this thread! This is just how I feel today (and other days too). I have spent most of my day today moping about on the net. I have been watching something I am selling on ebay, because it is going to fund the timber for some raised beds for my lottie plus tools and seeds. But...

Re: Grow your own drugs - BBC 2

I enjoyed this program, as it is something I am just starting to learn more about. I am newer on my ish journey than some people here, so some of the stuff like hops being a sedative was new and interesting to me! I am looking forward to the next one as it is about flowers.

Re: How do you say thank you to freecyclers?

I dont take things from freecycle (have enought junk already  ) but i am always getting rid of stuff on there. We once rehomed our pond fish on freecycle and I got a nice email from the lady who took them to say that they had all survived the journey and were enjoying their new lake :)
