Would it make a difference if the petals were infused as for tea rather than simmered? Leave them in the water until cold then really squeeze the water out. If the water needs boiling for sterilisation, boil it then, without the petals in as there may be something in the material of the petal that s...

I was wondering more along the lines of, would a chemical from one cause a problem with the growth of the other, as seems to happen with some plants.

I bought a pack of Electric onion sets today. A few have sprouted (1cm to a few cm). Should I plant these so that the green bits are above ground completely or partially covered by soil?
