Would it make a difference if the petals were infused as for tea rather than simmered? Leave them in the water until cold then really squeeze the water out. I was wondering more along the lines of, would a chemical from one cause a problem with the growth of the other, as seems to happen with some plants.

I bought a pack of Electric onion sets today. A few have sprouted (1cm to a few cm). Should I plant these so that the green bits are above ground completely or partially covered by soil?
