Re: Bicarbonate of Soda

I've recently made this spray, and its nothing short of a miracle!I make up a batch and decant into my old eco spray bottles.I use it on kitchen surfaces, spray the toilets, and bathroom, clean the fridge etc with it. I make up a thick paste using the same ingredients,so with everything added,it probabl...

Re: Mattresses

I've brought a 2nd hand double mattress for my spare room.We went to view it,really nice (posh)modern house. The couple selling it had it in their spare room, and wanted to turn that room into a nursery as they were about to have their first baby. The mattress was an expensive brand, hardly used. The bed...

Re: Well, poop!

I lost some crops that I had planted out at the end of April. Was always told to wait until mid April when the last frosts had passed.I decided to wait until end of April, was then hit with a frost over 2 nights, probably lost a third of my plants.

Re: Does anyone NOT have a television?

Yes I close my house up,and spend the day inside with headphones on.Even when I'm outside,if I wish to listen to music I wear my headphones do I don't disturb anyone! My husband and I are probably too considerate. My favourite part of the day is dawn.No background noise, just lovely birdsong.

Re: Does anyone NOT have a television?

I think people can't cope with peace and quiet these days Ina.I remember one holiday we were on,they had a quiet pool.No music, adults only, bliss! Well it was until a couple plonked themselves onto sunbeds right next to us,then proceeded to turn on a phone, and play music full volume. We've got a neig...

Re: Does anyone NOT have a television?

Oh sorry to hear that Ina.I'd love to be tv free, but unfortunately I think my husband would struggle, especially in the evenings.I've just started listening to Radio 4 podcasts via my laptop, which I'm really enjoying. In our town,we have a leisure centre which has an indoor pool.I keep meaning to go,a...

Re: Estate agencies

Sorry GA,she did'nt physically take us,I meant it as "She showed us"!Your house sounds very nice!We watch "A Place In The Sun".Its amusing at the start of the show, when presenters go through a verbal check list of what the buyers want/don't want. One couple made a strong point of ...

Re: Estate agencies

We recently experienced this.Gave the estate agent our budget, she took us to the first house which was within budget.Following house was double the price!Do they assume we have a money tree?We won't get everything we want in a house,so are willing to sacrifice, but double the price?I don't think so.

Re: What's wrong with fennel?

I've got Fennel growing this year.First time for me.Any ideas on how big it should grow before harvesting?I know it grows tall, but wondering if people leave it to grow that tall for a more structural look to their gardens.I'd like to harvest it before it gets too tough.
