Ours are quite good .I dug up 2 plants and there were too many to have for tea yesterday. They are Orla from the organic gardening catalogue.
We are in Kent though so probably they've been in a bit longer and I did cloche them to start with.

Its to keep out the sun and let the potato plant us its shoots as roots (grows the tubers at the end).
People use black plastic when they are doing th no dig approach so that must be okay. How about newspaper or grass cuttings ?

We had golf ball sized turnips yesterday (thinnings), a few new potatoes (not quite ready) and Rhubarb (2nd crumble this year).
Chard,lettuce ,radish and rocket.
Its such a lovely feeling going down the veg patch and coming in with goodies.

we had tea tree doggy shampoo for ours.She did smell much less when we changed her food too.She used to eat the tinned stuff for dogs with delicate tums but got on much better with the dried dog food ,even her mess was less smelly.

Ive got mostly beds as I started off reading John Seymour and thats what he recommended. I'd like to eventually have all deep beds as the 2 little ones I've got are doing very well. The potatoes are in rows though and the beans as it seems more practical for harvesting.

candy cruncher is my favourite on Linux,its a sliding puzzle thingummy with sweets.
Frozen bubble on my mobile phone,pop the bubbles before you run out of time.
align it on the pc a bit like connect 4 only more pieces,colours and you must clear the board before it fills.
