We have had a huge yield of blackberries , they are in a sheltered spot and we had enough to make 30 jars of jam, we are now awaiting the second cropping.
most apples give a good source of pectin, failing that a good shot of lemon juice will do the job proudly.

We have had a huge yield of raspberries, blackcurrants, tomatoes, cabbages and herbs galore. Pantry is awash with jams, chutneys,wine(which has been made a long time)and just made some great lemon curd(lemons bartered with a mate for blackberry jam, am now gladly awaiting the arrival of the elderber...

Raspberry plants

I've never grown raspberry plants before and now i have a good crop, i was wondering if you kind ishers could tell me the best way to care for them after they have finished cropping. Also have been told to bend a cane down into the soil and a new plant will grow, is this the best way and can anyone ...

I just wanted to tell you that in total my self sufficientish bible has been loaned by a total of 40 friends and relatives, so it is great news that all the info is being used, trying to get them to buy their own copies however, so i can have my own copy to dip into at a time i want to use it.

We have just tried a few of the bottles of wine which we made last year and it has to be said that a few of them were very interesting indeed;Dandelion was slightly earthy but immensely syrupy and enjoyed by all and the sweet grape was more of a dry finish which resulted in my poor friend diane losi...

I can understand why you are feeling confused, there are so many out there and the prices vary so much - you will have to have a good look through the internet to compare prices as they can start from £25ish up to stupid money!! I have a stockli which was a bit on the expensive side and a bit noisy ...
