Re: Weight loss group 2012

Cackles as she enters the forum to come and play  My weight has been up and down more times than a rabbits bum in March since last year when I joined the ishloss gang. Over the summer I fell head first into the apple cart ( then proceeded to it it's contents and then the actual cart itself, an...

Thanks for the link Becks, I'll have a goosey gander over to that site later  I bought a lunar calendar from Amazon just before January this one here.... which has made it all very clear and easy to follow, so I'm hoping that this will make a difference. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/produ...

First life of 2012 - What are you sowing?

Well last year was totally pants in my raised beds and I really lost heart with my garden made so much worse by the freakish weather and drought conditions we had here in London. This year I really want to get stuck back into my garden and have some produce to enjoy hopefully so I decided that I wou...

Re: Our recycling efforts in 2011

Bromley (London) is quite good with recycling. We have paper and card, then we have metals/cans in another bin and then a third for plastic stuff. While we can't recycle tetra packs from our front gardens there are facilities just down the road for plastic bags, coat hangers, shoes and clothing too....

Re: It's a Bit Windy Here

It was pretty darn rainy here this morning but the winds haven't been too bad at all really, but that is so typical of living in London really. Any 'real' weather just kind of passes us by generally speaking. Well done Dr Syn on the chicken coop. :thumbright: :thumbright:

Re: soap nuts or eco balls

I tried soapnuts and used them for a good year or so, but I found several problems with them. Firstly you have to make sure you hang your washing out to dry straight away or you end up with a stagnant water smell fairly quickly, which is a pain in winter if you don't tumble. I found they were not ge...

Actually might I suggest trawling through back posts on here, I think together we have written a book on eco/frugal cleaning, although admittedly it takes a long time to do, but it's free  :study:

Re: Make my own aftershave.

You could try this recipe and just use the herbs/spices that you like. http://www.ehow.com/how_2386363_make-bay-rum-aftershave.html Adding a little glycerine will give a slightly moisturising effect too, if you wanted. I often make my own fragrances and find that Eo's mixed with carrie...
