Re: freecycle
I have been on freecycle for about 6 months. I have happily given away baby clothes, maternity clothes, a bar stool, smaller things. But I had a really bad experience that has tainted my view slightly. I used to make and sell jewellery ad some stock left over taht I could not be bothered to eb#y. So...

Re: rowan berries.
i also make jam but make a blackberry and rowanberry jelly instead. The rowan add a little tartness to the jam and makes for a very nice adult jam. It benefits from a small maturation time o dont be tempted to eat straight away. I have aldo read that there is an alcoholic drink made from powdered ro...

Re: candle making
I have done this before. Theres a cande making supply website that will advise you what wax type is bet but you need a container wax that has different levels of paraffin in the wax (i think). The wick should be chosen based on the width of the jar to ensure even burn rate. http://www.4candles.co.uk...

Re: Ederberry and Rosehip
dont quote me on this scrap but I think i remember someone on here saying that the smaller red "wild" variety are sweeter in flavour than the softer rose hips, that you can get in varoious colours, including red. Which I think are the tomoatoey ones. I have personally made rose hip syrup f...

Re: What's wrong with my walnuts?
ok, I am going to ask something completely stupid now, so please accept my apologies in advance! The tree that I am posative that is a walnut tree, white variety, is still laden with walnuts. They are still sticky to pick but the nutty bit inside seems more developed than previous. How much like teh...

Re: hawthorn
i have just made a bottle of the haw-sin sauce. It tastes quite pleasant. Its a little bit like a fruity bbq sauce. Well we have collected another few pounds today and will be back out on Tuesday to get more. Just out of interest why would you want to leave the haw berries? There are loads...
