I cut the bottoms off the 4pt size and made a hole in the top and bottom of the handle,placed them over my bean and pea seedlings and pushed a short cane through the holes in the handle and into the ground,kept the frost off them and totally stoped the mice eating them and didn't loose a plant this ...

Off topic a bit but some time ago we discovered that most tea bags are put together with polypropylene glue and as I don't like the sound of that have gone back to loose tea..........side benefit I had forgotten how much better it tastes.Jessica

Just goes to show that you can look but not see until someone opens your eyes, I have loads of his left over from my daughters dress up times and I never thought to use it in the garden,thanks a lot Durgan...............

Hi St John I'm in Galloway and just waiting for the rain to start at last as our rivers have shrunk to nothing...........never thought I would be praying for rain, makes you think what it would be like to be in a country where the there is no rain for years.

Please,please does anyone know a way to stop moles from causeing havoc in my raised beds and rose hedge without killing them although if this goes on I might forget my softer side and hit them with a spade.

Thanks for the tip Jim, just bought the recipe book from greenmetropolis a snip at £3.75 delivered, its funny how much the publishers spend on advertising and I have found my best books through word of mouth. looking forward to trying it out............ Jessica

I have a Magimix food processor and a juicer that Dennis calls R2D2 when the processor jammed I phoned the customer services dept and this for once lived up to its name. Although it was a few months out of warranty they arranged pick up fixed it and returned it free of charge so I will look at Magim...

I have to agree with Julie as I was on another forum and left because some of the people seemed to enjoy being nasty as a hobby and it made me very wary of joining another but in the months that I have been reading ish I have seen many differences of opinions but a great spirit of live and let live,...

The mange tout seeds I got from the Real Seed Co called Golden Sweet Yellow look just like your photo except they are growing very tall but the seed pods are growing well so fingers crossed.
