Yard clean-up for Winter begins in early September. Starting about three weeks early insures the clean-up is not undertaken during wet and cool conditions. The half dead shrubs are cut down and placed through the chipper/shredder.The shrubs are encircled with a lassoo and cut off using a handsaw. This is a quick and efficient method of removing the vegetation. The shredded vegetation composts easily when cut into small pieces. The compost pile is simply added to as the spent vegetation becomes available, and nature does the rest.

The pithy hardy hibiscus vegetation was cut down and shredded and added to the compost pile. The bush was lassoed and cut with a saw. This makes the job easy and took about 20 minutes for the complete operation.Getting ready for Winter!
