Has just been told she has a second allotment again. At least this one is in good repair unlike the last second allotment. Will have to sign and pay next week but have key. Just need to go down and see if the key works! Job for tomorrow.

Not necessarily true.
I find that when we have wet gloomy days I'm all aches and pains, and I don't think it's anything to do with the weather as I'm the same when we go shopping and sit in the car for hours.
On the other hand, when I work out in the garden I feel just fine, even if I've been digging and heavy work.
So go for it Flo, grow vegetables and not vegetate.

Said daft gardener has been down to second allotment for a close inspection this afternoon. Soil needs some care and attention in places. In other words compost. There's a container of what I think is very old chicken manure - years since they had chickens in there mind. So it will be old.

Too wet to work at the moment but at least I now know that compost needs digging in and more bark will be needed on some of the paths. But it will grow spuds for a start. And I have some spare strawberry plants grown from runners and three or four polyanthus in pots which will fill up a space. Oh and some spare herb cuttings (not the mint mind). So there are plans. It'll take purple sprouting broccoli and calabrese too with some work.
