The End Of The Line - Channel 4 Saturday 5th March

Did anyone else happen to catch this (no pun intended)? Absolutely fascinating, though pant-wettingly terrifying and hand-wringingly depressing at the same time. I imagine it'll be on 4OD for a while if you missed it and want to find out more about the money-grabbing couldn't-care-less attitude the Westernised World (and in particular, Europe) have towards large-scale fishing.

Imagine having no edible seafood at all by 2050 - that's the scenario that we face if we don't do something fast; but rather than being a grim, sanctimonious and condescending documentary it was extremely watchable - Charles Clover is a very engaging and articulate chap, and is just the sort of figurehead you need for a campaign such as this.

Sadly I missed this, I did want to watch it but got caught up with other things. Glad to hear it was good.

i didn't see it on CH4 though did go to a screening with the director last year (I was based in University of Liverpool's Marine Biology unit).

I thought it was a very good film and highlighted a lot of the issues very well.

In the post-film chat though he did seem to disregard a lot of important issues. the major one i recall was that he was pushing for the use of no-fish zones as his major protection of fish. this works nicely for fish that don't move much, but fish such as tuna cover vast distances, so this is not really a viable option...
