No, haven't tried it yet, but I will and let you know.
I have golden crookneck summer squash this year and they taste like fresh chestnuts (if you have a reasonable imagination)
You eat those like courgettes when they are about 6" long

I've never tried any summer squash and I wasn't growing any winter ones either this year (got sick to death of them!). However there's something in one of my flower beds that I was waiting to see what it was - I was guessing a melon or pumpkin and now it's got leaves too big for a melon, so the burning question is whether it is a butternut or a potimarron and whether I pull it up or let it run rampant all over the lawn....

We had some on Saturday, ones ranging from 2" to 1" in diameter, including one that still had a fresh flower attached.
Sautéed them in a little olive oil and they were .................. totally tasteless.

They did have a nice texture when raw though, sort of softly crisp, so might be nice in a salad.

I have about 10 which are swelling fast, a couple of which are football sized already, so I'm busy chopping off fresh growths and deflowering  every morning to stop them producing more.

Ah thanks for doing the totally tasteless experiment for the rest of us! Yes they do grow pretty well and fast, don't they?
