Hello from Turkey :)

Post: # 292324Post KoyDeli »

I am from the midlands in England but have been living semi-retired in Turkey for the last 14 years. I don't have a garden but enjoy foraging in the local woods and countryside and have some pots on the roof terrace to grow a selection of herbs which are difficult to get here, and make a little pin money making baked goods, preserves and pickles that my fellow ex-pats miss from England that are difficult to get here (e.g., pork pies, scotch eggs, sausage rolls, piccallili, branston style plowmans, golden syrup, treacle, marmalade, British Indian style dishes, snacks and breads, etc). We all (well most of us) enjoy the fantastic Turkish cuisine as well of course!

Hello KoyDeli - it's good to meet you. Yes a change of diet does show how ingrained eating habits can be.

Oh yes, don't I know it... I regularly get my mustard from Germany. I like neither the English nor the French (Polish will do). And don't get me started about bread...

Welcome!
