introducing myself

Post: # 145124Post apricotnelli »

HI

I live, garden, forage and cook in Dublin. I have a small patch of veg at the back of a friends garden. I am still picking chicory and spinach there. The asparagus is on the way up as are the broad beans and early onions and garlic.
I am in the process of making raised beds in my potting shed and have planted tomato seed, pepper and peperoncini
I love to cook and eat and get the veg and fruit I dont grow from friends with allotments foraging in parks, friends with fruit trees/greenhouses and my local organic veg box supplier http://www.homeorganics.ie.

I love to preserve but seem to give it away as soon as I make it particularly the beetroot chutney. I am very lucky as people know I can batch cook and preserve so often arrive with boxes of surplus.. Pickled grapes was another success !!

Welcome to 'ish

What are peperoncini? I have never heard of them. Pickiled grapes sound lovely though....hmmm....

Hello, sounds like you're doing some interesting stuff there! Pickled grapes?........ any chance of a recipe, or is it the straight-forward pickling thing, e.g. beetroot, onions, etc?. Do tell!!
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.

Hello, I do feel that I'm the only one that thinks pickled grapes seem a little wrong, not much of a fan of vinegar but eat grapes like sweets. Would love the recipe for beetroot chutney though

Regret to tell you that apricotnelli spends his/her time posting thinly disguised advert links for the veg box scheme. This is an unethical practice and is known as selling under guise.

I would be very suspicious of the organic credentials of a company that is willing to mislead in their marketing. You can't be just a little unethical or pregnant
