Hi - nice to meet you all. I'm on the road to being self-sufficientish.......I experimented a few years ago with buying nothing new for a year and when the experiment was up I had a different way of living that I've stuck with. We need less and less, buy local, buy second hand, use the library, use natural and although it's expensive eeek everything out. Not growing anything yet but that's our next move. We're mainly trying to consume very little and are making arrangements to live a more simple life and I'de love to share that journey and be able to ask questions as people are on that 'walk'.

How nice to meet you all - i've spent the day cooking for christmas - homemade: mincemeat and then the pies, a cake, the pudding and the stuffing in advance and the homebrew got its first airing tonight - only from a kit but it's a step in the right direction - knitting like mad to finish the homemade scarves for the girlies - jam and pickles for pressies and lots of second hand books to wrap! nothing has been bought new this christmas! all the decs are plants out the garden and yep - it's great to meet like minded people - who like me - live in a terraced house with hardly any garden in the middle of a town :wave:
