Hello All,...
Hello All,...
Hello, from midi (michael) to All. Well, I'm impressed with the younger s s ish ites who are leaving usuitable or unhappy jobs in order to follow their plans and wishes. I, at 50, have placed my notice to leave too. I drive a lot of miles in maintenance duties, of office blocks (Im a sparky) but no more! It is appalling the number of miles a modern company asks of one nowadays whilst pretending to be 'green', (over 100 miles to do 10 minute maintenance jobs) 'Not like my Dads day,in the 70's when work was fairly local. Well..'They' were rather rude to me when I complained, and now...I'm outta there in just over a week. Remember that old song ,..You can take this job and shove it? ..from about '74.
Lucky me! ..I have a lovely Wife who makes homemade cakes/ quiche/jams/chutney/pies..the whole shubungle really and where she works part time she gets given plenty of home grown veg and fruit occasionally, which is good because we live in a tiny dwelling (love it..mobile home) therefore our own growing efforts are all in pots around two small gardens. Runner beans growing in buckets..that sort of thing.
'Got myself a bike and a bike trailer just lately; I sold a trailer 8 years ago and thought it was getting too dangerous for cycling but ,needs must' for now because the work van soon goes back to the slavers. I had private use of that van..not free use, the taxman misses nothing.
I homebrew beer as well, but only a novice in winemaking ; I've been told its ok..She's getting hooked on strawberry wine! Ahh, the things we do to keep 'em sweet. Cheers Midi

Hello and welcome from a fellow job-jumper (I leapt from the treadmill two years ago aged 48 and so far haven't looked back), hope it all goes well for you.

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
