Hello from Ireland.

Post: # 274526Post silly_sammy »

So glad to have found this forum. Im 25 since february, but I've dreamed of owning and living off my own land since I was 19. The major nudge in this direction came with the birth of my son; growing my own, recycling and ridding my home of chemicals. Amazing the way children change your whole view of the world!

I never knew how to go about natural living and dunked myself in head first. I got overwhelmed and things just fizzled out. I had aphids attacking my plants, sunken bread and my washing up liquid wasn't cleaning my dishes. Last summer I was on a search for something to wash my sensitive skin with and read that honey was perfect. Funny, but that started a whole new life for me. I make my own cleaners, washing powder, body products. I have IBD so I am still in the process of cutting all processed food from my diet. I make my own breads, dairy free ice creams ect. I have a small/medium garden with mostly fruit and herbs growing this year (my dog doesnt seem to like my plants :( ) All these little changes sparked something inside my family-

If it's broken, lets repurpose it.
if you really dont want it, sell or donate
never buy first hand what you can pick up second hand.
Exchanging favours and trades ect is a great way to get around this money trap
All of these challenges at home are far more fun than a challenge at the office.

so... here I am. I want to meet like-minded people who dont just think Im a black footed hippie. (even though the soles of my feet are currently black :flower: )

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I don't know. Someone with black feet? The ramifications are startling.

My feet, for instance, are currently red.

Welcome, Sammy.

MKG, have you been treading your grapes barefooted for one of your wines? :drunken:
