Not Been Around for a While

As I've sadly neglected this wonderful site whilst having a hectic time I felt it only polite to re-introduce myself; a bit like renewing one's vows of self-sufficiency!

I'm MuddyWitch, a 52 year old woman from the English Midlands in the process of buying a small holding in the Republic of Ireland. Hubby & I have done as much as is possible on our 3/4 acre city garden & are now off to a bigger place. We haven't found the exact one yet, but we know it'll probably be in the ancient kingdom of Connacht, ie the North-West of Ireland.

Our younger daughter is joining us on this adventure & she is already over there, in our rented house & looking after all our belongings and my beloved hounds. We are going over at xmas to view properties and finalise our plans. (We'll have to come back to the UK to sell this place, but that shouldn't take too long as we're pricing it to sell.)

I've also just started coming on here after quite a long gap. I joined originally when looking for people to talk to about chickens, when we first got them to keep on our allotment, round about 2008. Then was doing less ish things for a bit, also hung around on another site - Downsizer - and now hanging around on all sorts of ish etc sites since moving to Lincs and starting new garden, eventually with chickens again.

Marshlander - v pleased to see another Lincolnshire dweller - even though the other end of this huge county.
