Wine Labels

Post: # 156242Post RobHed »

Hope someone out there can assist - my homemade apple wine is almost a year old now and I have been thinking that maybe I should label the bottles so I don't forget when I bottled it. Can anybody recommend where I can download some free labels, or how they make labels, themselves ? All assistance gratefully received ! Cheers - Rob Wiltsher :salute:

Just Google "free clipart wine" and loads will come up. You'll need to get some printer labels.

I have given up on sticky labels as they are a sod to get off when you wash the bottles later.. so instead i make labels luggage tag style to pop over the necks of the bottles. of course potentially they could get lost etc.. but it works for me. for clear bottles/ pale wines i write on the bottles with marker pen. i would only do a proper label if i was giving the bottle away.

Use paper and pritt stick, it stays on the bottles like a dream and them slips off when it's soaked in water... it's what we use :)

Eek yes, sorry it's a glue in a stick type thing in the UK usually used for kids paper crafts etc!

A few people on the brewing forums I frequent use milk to stick the bottle labels onto their bottles, it comes off in warm water easier than any glue and holds the labels on firmly enough for most of them.

I go into www.irishwildflowers.ie and print off pics to stick to my wine bottles.
beautiful pics and they can be accessed by month of flowering or alphabetically.
worth looking at just to see the pics even. :flower:
