fiddle still
This is a kinda of hobby with me, sayings and how they mutate the other side of the world.

We for instance would say fiddle sticks, which make sense because you use them on fiddles (violins). Unless it's a typo, in Australia it has obviously changed to fiddle still, which makes no sense but just how it's been passed down through the decades.

Sorry just an interest of mine

Even more chance of me getting dropped off the top 20 then!

Glad to hear its all working smoothly - I hadn't noticed anything from you for ages.

I must admit I had to look that up. Thank you any one of the meanings is a compliment -

1. Having a buoyant or self-confident air; brisk.
2. Crisp and dapper in appearance; natty.
3. Archaic
a. Stylish.
b. Genteel.

Her wedding was yonks ago!

I like the new avatar too Andy, and thanks for the different meanings of jaunty! I thought it meant just no. 1.

Would you say you were very crisp, dapper and natty, Andy? Plus archaic and stylish, all at the same time?  It's a good one that!

I think Shiney is just really REALLY busy and as for PD - she's still here from time to time.

It's also that time of the year when folk are out there in the garden/on the lottie and working/enjoying the sunshine.

Yeah but Shirlz, she seems to be happy posting on Neeps. I just can't understand why she stopped here, which was during the winter. Maybe somebody upset her?

Sometimes it's no more than failing to have world enough and time to do everything you would like to do.

BTW, I'm amazed that I'm still in the top 20... I think it's because, although I'm not nearly as frequent a poster as some of you I've kept on at a steady pace. Maybe next time I'll have dropped out of the list ... :bom:
