In the UK, and one would have thoughout the EU, power companies are legaly obliged to buy back your excess power.
They dont want to, because its useless to them, but they have to.

Hi

I am looking at installing a hydro system too.

I have high head - large drop from source of water to turbine (40m)- and low flow (0.5 to 5 l/s) - spring feeding into pond.

there is alot of info on

http://www.absak.com

They provide details on how to assess your site and suitable turbines.

I am thinking of the "waterbaby" with 2 pipes and 4 nozzles to help overcome efficiency loss due to variation in flow. I expect to get 150 to 300 watts.
