Valuing secondhand solar bits?

Does anyone know if there is a web resource for valuing secondhand solar bits? Alternatively anyone want to hazard a guess at this one...

I´ve got a CPS 1000w modified sine wave inverter. It is 8 years old and works perfectly. Someone wants to buy it off me, I was about to offer it to them for 50 euros, but then found the original receipt for 640 euros (without VAT). Now I want to be fair to them, but I don´t want to short change my kids on xmas presents IYKWIM.

The same original seller lists a 600w version for 500 euros and 1500w for 800, so I was thinking around 300 - 350€ would be fair....thoughts?

TIA Clara

I buy-sell-trade lots of items on a regular basis.
basically I'd try to get as much as possible.
if the buyer is a friend and/or a hard Luck case
maybe give them a deal. but your thoughts of about half price of new
should be a good place to start...never forget about a trade...
if the buyer has something you need, what a great way to get it
I love to Barter !

8 year old (ie old...)

modified sine (ie not the best)

used....

I wouldnt want to sped much more than 100 quid / euros. And thats generous - new ones are 200 quid these days I'm afraid.

Yeah I understand you can get cheap ones, but the new versions of this that I could find are 800w for 500€ and 1500w for 800€, I don´t understand the difference but clearly there must be one?

The other thing to consider is that secondhand bits retain their value better in Spain, you don´t want to know what I had to pay for an old pegeot 106!
