Excellent. I'd love a camper van but OH doesn't like them.

I had a friend, many years ago, who lived in a converted bread van - it was amazing, had an old French woodburner and a beautiful cabin bed draped with velvet - bit of a babe magnet

awesome, I used to live in a ambulance, a bedford CF2, you are better of with a transit. I lived in it for about 2 and a half years, toured Ireland and some of Britain (didn't get to Scotland in it but I am making up for that now) We had a small woodburner with a flexible flue pipe out of sliding window, 2 hob gas cooker large water butt. 2 of us lived in it with a very large dog!

what engine does it have ?

We are really happy with it and looking forward to converting it, oh yes that old patient i think he still lying there poor old sod   @ John its a 2.3 diesel on a 3500cwt chassis, so its pretty solid i hope to put a roofrack on with an access ladder later on, we have already eyed up a small stove thats one of the main things i wanted for one it will keep jane warm but as we tour Scotland i can add a bit to the chimney and do a bit of fish smoking mmmmmmm :thumbright: we feel like children with a new toy
all i've got to do is get a new alternator, battery , front disc and bearings wich are omly pennies and i can fit them myself fortunatly the mate who gave it to me has an account at a transit dealers and gets ridiculous discounts on his ambulance parts said i can use his name to get what i need,

Lovely, lovely, lovely! I am soooo jealous! My daughter and I had an old transit van Auto sleeper which we loved and travelled all over the south and Wales in, but we sold it when we were panicked into believing we wouldn't be able to run it when 4star petrol disappeared. How stupid were we!!! pbf.

Corr excellent! What a lovely project to have, we envy you getting a freebie like that (a good friend you have indeed). How is it with the juice consumption?

I thought that too  the first pic looked like it had a dead body in it who'd been hit with a spanner and was waiting to go to the morgue.....

Looks like a great project Russ!

Congratulations, I'm sure you will just love it.

We have had our camper van for 18 years now and would'nt part with it for the world. It is always fully loaded with our gear so if the weather is good off we go. Over the years we have travelled all over this country and had many great times touring around France. It really is a wonderful way to holiday.
Kind Regards

Oh lucky you. I'm sure you'll do a wonderful job. I can't wait to see the afters.

How about a couple of hens on the roof? And a few herbs in window boxes of course, and maybe a trailer with the vegetable plot in it.
